2025 GIRLS SOFTBALL SEASON:
Online registration for Spring 2025 will open on November 1, 2024 for players and team volunteers (head coach, coach and team helper). SEE BASEBALL TAB FOR THAT REGISTRATION.
Player Registration will close on January 31, 2025. THE WAIT LIST REGISTRATION IS OPEN UNTIL FEB 10--you may sign up but placement on teams is not guaranteed.
Team staff registration will remain open until end of season to allow for adding staff as needed.
Please note it is extremely helpful to us in assigning players, IF you chose the SCHOOL as proof of residency and check the school your player attends. YOU should be able to click past the "proof of residency uploads and upload a school enrollment form at anytime during the season. SEE information on residency later in this article.
GIRLS SOFTBALL 2025--FEES AND DIVISIONS
Player Fees for 2025-our lease extension agreement with the Port of Olympia includes an add on fee of $10 per player to be allocated to field relocation. Therefore, our fees increase of $10 per player for 2024 carried over to 2025.
2025 Player Registration fees will be paid at time of sign up as follows:
Fees for 2025 Spring ALL Girls Softball division fees will be $150 per player as an introductory division.
You can pay in full
OR
Elect one of two payment plans (Note on payment plans--the installment dates are fixed by the system, so if you sign up AFTER a specific payment plan date has passed you will pay ALL Installments due at the date of signup).
Six Part Payment plan, you will pay $25 on November 1, November 27, December 10, December 27, January 10 and January 27.
Three Part Payment plan you will pay $50 on November 1, December 10 and January 10.
Family Discount of $10 per player is applied to the second player and subsequent players from each family.
Refunds--full refund will be made upon notification of withdrawal by MARCH 10. After March 10, there will be a $60 refund fee applied to cover cost of uniform.
Transaction fees:
There is a $3 per transaction fee for each payment transaction processed online.
The league is also paying about 4% for each banking transaction.
The $3 fee is not charged per player but per total transaction so if you register multiple players the fee will be $3 for all players on the transaction--IF you wait to pay until you have ALL the players in your family signed up its just one transaction fee.
Player Age for Division eligibility is by League Age
League age is determined by age as of December 31, 2024--see League Age Chart 2025 to verify league age.

Grants and scholarships
Scholarships--league based-you will need to contact [email protected] with information on need and player/s name/s PRIOR TO REGISTRATION. A coupon code will be issued for scholarship that you can apply on checkout. Please include the player/s division and whether you can pay $60 uniform fee PLUS $10 for new fields. In using coupon codes, you need to select pay in full on first payment page and insert coupon code on the second payment page. ALL scholarship players will pay $10 towards the new fields.
Grants are NOT yet open--we will send an email blast as soon as we receive notification of grant links for 2025.
IF you are seeking a scholarship, please apply for a T-Mobile Call Up grant first--IF your player is in T-Ball or AA the grant will cover fees; IF your player is in a kid pitch division you will need a coupon code from the league BEFORE you process the grant payment--so please contact [email protected] once you have the grant.
The link to T-Mobile grants is https://www.littleleague.org/call-up-grant-program/ IF you sign up NOW they will email you when the grant applications open.

Residency and out of boundary players 2025
Players living in or attending schools (public or private) in the Olympia, North Thurston, Tumwater or Griffin school districts are within the Capitol Little League boundaries.
ALL out of boundary players over league age 7 in 2025 will need to have waiver paperwork processed PRIOR to draft/placement on teams.
Players league age 4 to 7 may elect to play in ANY Little League without requiring a waiver.
Establishing residency
Please note it is extremely helpful to us in assigning players, IF you chose the SCHOOL as proof of residency and check the school your player attends. YOU should be able to click past the "proof of residency uploads and upload a school enrollment form at anytime during the season.
Proof of residency-- can be uploaded with your registration. Remember the dates that are required are between FEB 1, 2024 and FEB 1, 2025 for all documents like rental agreements, utility bills, insurance forms, etc. Drivers license must be dated prior to FEB 1, 2025. NOTE: the Little League Residency form has NOT been updated for 2025 dates which are indicated above.
OR
A school enrollment form can be used in lieu of ALL proof of residency forms as long as it is for a school within our boundaries and signed by the principal or assistant principal. IF your player was on a tournament team in 2023 or before we should have a tournament verification form for them and that is sufficient as well for as long as you are at same address OR they attend same school. If you have a school enrollment form from a previous year and your child still attends same school, you do NOT need a new form--you can use the one from prior years.
TEAM STAFF REQUIREMENTS
ALL volunteers must have a yearly background check for participation in Little League--this includes board members and umpires as well as team staff--coaches and team helpers. When you apply for a team staff position, the system will send you a link to JDP to complete the information required for the background check.
All head coaches and assistant coaches should have current certificates for concussion awareness and sudden cardiac arrest--IF you have a certificate from another sport that will be effective thru the Spring season, you may use that certificate.
IF you need to renew your certification. NFHS provides free online training with certificates for these subjects as well as several others. The link to that site in https://nfhslearn.com/courses
Head coaches and assistant coaches will need a Diamond Leader certificate as well. IF you completed that training in 2023 or 2024 you will NOT need to do the program again for 2025. The link to the Diamond Leader training is https://www.littleleague.org/s/diamond+leader
This year Little League is requiring ALL volunteers to have completed the Little League Abuse Awareness course.
You can find the training course at
https://www.littleleague.org/university/articles/abuse-awareness-training-course/2025 PLAYER EVALUATIONS
COACH PITCH PLAYERS DO NOT HAVE A PLAYER EVALUATION.
ALL GIRLS SOFTBALL PLAYERS WILL REQUIRE A PLAYER EVALUATION FOR SPRING 2025 AS WE ESTABLISH TEAMS IN THIS DIVISION.
Player evaluation will be held FEB 8 & FEB 22 at Peter G Schmidt Elementary 237 Dennis St SE Tumwater WA 98501.
Players league age 7 requesting placement in kid pitch divisions will require a player evaluation.
